Hard Rock Hotel Penang, Batu Ferringhi – Spa Of Rhythm and Motion

Attending a spa is a rare event for me. Attending the world’s first Rhythm and Motion spa is not only rare but a surprise for me. Rhythm and Motion spa is the trademark of Hard Rock Hotel. This is the world’s first fully immersive music-center spa menu utilizing amplified vibrations, pressures and patterns, as the foundation of its treatments.

As a person who seldom goes for spa treatments, the treatments that I am aware of are usually body scrub and full-body aromatherapy massage. I can’t imagine how the synchronicity, face the music and heat wave treatments are going to be like in a spa session. In fact, I was selected to try out “heat wave” spa treatment.

The spa treatments can be done either indoor or outdoor. It could be at the huts which are surrounded by trees and plants.

Or it could be at a private villa which is usually reserved for couples.

For foot reflexology, there are several comfortable reclining chairs outdoor which is great for enjoying natural sea breeze while being pampered.

For those looking for cozy and privacy, the indoor spa room is a great choice.

This is especially for the Rhythm and Motion Spa as the beds were built with with woofers and the surround speakers on the top of the patron.

The hot stones and hot rods that are being used for the therapy is in preparation.

The whole treatment process of this therapy is very different and full of surprises. In fact, the bed itself is packed with woofer speakers that will vibrate your body as part of the treatment and the hot lava stones are used to scrub the body together with essential oil.

Available now at Hard Rock Hotel Penang, the new Rock Spa Rhythm and Motion treatments cater to all spa-goers’ needs.

Synchronicity (RM240 – 1 hour/RM325 – 1.5 hours) is a pulsating massage featuring a aster fully blended soundtrack. Utilizing greatness hits from yesterday to today, the treatment taps into memories to create a experimental journey, in sync with a performance of techniques, prs sure and rhythm. The massag offers a foot cleanse with hot stone and a choice of Hard Rock Massage Traditional Malaysian Massage.
Face the Music (RM240 – 1 hour) combines the therapeutic benefits of sound vibration and clinically proven organic products to rejuvenate and hydrate facial skin. This extraordinary Aromatherapy facial leaves skin feeling smooth and refreshing, shedding years and restoring a star-worthy glow.
Heat Wave (RM390 – 1.5 hours) offers a massage treatment using warm volcanic stones on the body, hands and legs leading to deep relaxation, helps to melt away tension, eases, muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism leaving you fling rejuvenated. This massage offers a foot cleanse with hot stone and hot rocks massage.

The interior of the room has been designed with “rock and roll” concept.

There are hand lotions and also shampoos available to use after the therapy.

Once the session is completed, hot water or hot ginger tea will be provided for internal cleansing.

Although the whole process of Motion and Rhythm therapy to me is full of surprises due to its one of its kind treatment, I enjoyed the treatment very much as it made me feel relaxed and refreshed after a long day at work.

59Sixty – Buffet with Panoramic View

Dining at the top of that particular place has always been a great experience as it makes you feel like you are at the top of the world and usually it is an exclusive dining experience.

Previously, I had the honor to review at the tip of Penang Hill for its dinner. This time, instead of being at the tip of a hill, it is at the tip of the tallest building in Penang which is KOMTAR.

The panoramic view from the top is just fantastic and breathtaking. The feeling of reaching the sky and looking down from the above is just awe-inspiring. This is Penang’s latest addition to its list of landmarks – The Top – a revitalised urban icon, conceptualised and brought to life by Only World Group Holdings Berhad (OWG).

Upon the arriving we were greeted by all their friendly staffs.

The modern chandelier welcomes guests to its grand entrance.

Located at the Level 59 & 60 of KOMTAR Tower, 59Sixty is an exciting casual fine-dining restaurant and bar concept that is set to elevate the dining experience in Penang to new heights.

For those couples wanted to have some privacy, you can also opt for the dimmer area with candle-lit tables for couples.

Not just the view is in panoramic vision, even the buffet spread is also in a panoramic display where you will be walking round the restaurant selecting the food of your choice.

The new chef, Jason from New Zealand is in charge of the food here. There are also many supporting kitchen staff with passion to serve their best to their customers.

The restaurant at Level 59 which has a seating capacity of 450, is designed along Mediterranean themes that offers a glorious buffet spread that serves both local and International cuisine, including Chinese, Nyonya, Western, Middle Eastern, Japanese and seafood delicacies.

Its wide variety of truly Asian ﬂavour crabs offers an unforgettable experience that never ceases to delight the patrons‘ taste buds. Patrons can enjoy an experience whilst savouring sumptuous cuisines amidst a fabulous vista of the urban landscape which is an implausible experience like nowhere else in Penang.

A wine and cigar bar at Level 60 is all about comfort and pleasure. It offers an eclectic selection of wines from around the globe as well as the ﬁnest of international cigars in a cool setting. A cosy and deliberate dark interior yet intimate setting with large, tinted windows that offer a breath taking view of the twinkling lights of the city, this Cigar lounge section of 59Sixty is a perfect place for that evening getaway from this little busy city. Patrons can enjoy wide varieties of wine and concoction of cocktails amid luxurious surroundings.

Adding an elegant touch to The Top is the Banquet Hall. A pillar-less event premise which is an ideal venue for private, social and corporate events and functions as it is equipped with the state of the art LED Backdrop to make any event theme a reality. The versatile hall can accommodate up to 1,200 guests at any one time. Rest assured, The Top Banquet all is well paired with an aspiring culinary team to create and innovate gastronomic experiences for the patrons.

Overall, the variety of the food is abundant and it is impossible to taste each and every food in the buffet spread. Most importantly, the previous misconception of the food has been improvised and the standard is quite on par with its competitors now. Besides having quality food you also get to enjoy wonderful view of Penang, which is a strong selling point to its customers. However, the price of RM168 nett per pax is slightly on the high side. I will definitely consider this place if I have any special occasion to celebrate.
