CHONG KOK KOPITIAM 中国酒店 @ KLANG

Chong Kok Kopitiam is an extremely popular breakfast spot in Klang. Every morning, Malaysians of all races would gather here for a plate of nasi lemak or toast before going on with their day. It is truly a muhibbah scene.
Chong Kok Kopitiam Crowded
Unless you come in a big group, chances are you will be sharing a table. So grab a chair and feel free to strike up a conversation with a stranger.
Nasi Lemak Chong Kok Kopitiam Klang
There are two types of nasi lemak here: pre-packed ones placed in front of the cashier while the other is sold by a stall (served with dishes) at the coffee shop’s entrance.
Although we arrived relatively early around 10am, the dishes were finished. Nevertheless we ordered one just for trying and it was not bad at all. The sambal is runny and slightly sweetish though.
Chong Kok Kopitiam Klang Nasi Lemak
The nasi lemak bungkus tastes normal in a good way. Personally, I feel this is more to my liking as the sambal is spicier and has more oomph. But of course it’d be a different story if the curry dishes at the nasi lemak stall were still available.
Chong Kok Kopitiam Toast
Roti bakar is alright I guess, I am sure you’d have had better butter kaya toasts at other coffee shops. Maybe their cakes like Swiss rolls would fare better.
Chong Kok Kopitiam Coffee
Chong Kok’s kopi is probably the only thing I could say I thoroughly enjoyed – and it’s also the only thing I would gladly return for more. It’s incredibly rich, smooth and aromatic for a local coffee. Having said that, do ask for kurang manis because it’s a tad sweet by default.

For those who don’t feel like driving all the way to Klang, you may opt to take the KTM and alight at Klang station. Upon exiting the station, Chong Kok Kopitiam will be right in front of you.
