STAINGATE: ANNOYED APPLE MACBOOK USERS START CAMPAIGN OVER ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING PEELING

A group of Apple users have begun a campaign against the quality of the anti-reflective coating found on MacBook displays. It would appear that the issue stems from the coating becoming scratched or peeling off after a certain amount of time. While the problem has been known since 2013, it was only recently that Apple users began to vent their frustration over the matter.

MacBooks sold between 2012 and today have been known to suffer from the anti-reflecting coating becoming damaged from a variety of reasons. Some has been the fault of the user as third party cleaning solutions or microfiber cloths were used, but an even larger portion of damage was caused simply by pressure from the keys and trackpad while the display is closed.

What really annoys these Apple fans is that while the one year warranty covers them for replacements, the issue keeps appearing even after the device is replaced. Those that suffer the damage after their warranties have ended were left paying hundreds of American dollars for repairs.

While the complaints had originally taken place over Apple Support Communities andFacebook, an unofficial website has appeared for affected users to upload pictures of their damaged machines. The movement is asking Apple for a free repair programme to correct the problem when it appears, although to be fair, it is unlikely that Apple will be moved over the few hundred users who have uploaded their stories.

MacBook unlikely to surpass 450,000 in sales during 1H15, says report

The new 12-inch MacBook recently announced from Apple that is set to be released on April 10 is unlikely to see more than 450,000 in sales during the first half of 2015 due to limited demand for notebooks coupled with slowdowns in production of Retina display panels, according to Taiwan-based Tech News.

The report quoted findings from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and further revealed that in addition to weak demand for notebooks in the first half, there has been a slowdown in Retina display production from the two main panel suppliers LG Display and Samsung Display.

Production has been off to a slow start and a reported 160,000 units have only been assembled so far by Quanta, using panels from Samsung Display. Mass production is expected to pick up in April, however, when LG Display will start producing 120,000 displays for the device per month.

Initial supply of the MacBook will be limited but will pick up throughout the first half, the report added.

MacBook Air drops from 1000 feet at 200km/h from an airplane and survived!

This MacBook Air was accidentally drop of from airplane at 1000 feets at 200km/h when the pilot forgot to do the proper pre-takeoff checks before taking off on his light aircraft, resulting in the Thule bag, which the Macbook Air is kept. flew out of the aircraft.

The pilot searched for his MacBook Air frantically after landed safely on the airport, with the help of willing strangers and the local police. Fortunately for him, his bag was found by a farmer when the bag drops just 1 meter away from him and contacted the pilot through Facebook.

Amazingly, the Macbook Air survived the fall with only busted cooling system, a shattered trackpad and a bent chassis. What more surprising is that there is no crack on the screen and it still work perfectly despite the fall from 1000 feet. Whether or not this is a testament to Apple products' build quality is debatable but the fact that the product is still functioning well deserved a praise.
