Marinated Chicken with Ginger, Garlic, Lemon Grass, Chilies and Thai Basil
Grilled on the spot, their Grilled Chicken was ethereal. It manages to lock the moisture in, as a result, tender, juicy, beautifully cooked Grilled Chicken with a remarkable depth of flavor. A must-have dish for poultry lovers.
Local Squid with Turmeric Sambal (Sambal Kunyit)
Snapper with Spiced Coconut (Pais Kelapa) served with Assam Sauce
Garlic and Kaffir Lime Prawns
Baked Potatoes with Beef Bacon Bits, Sour Cream and Scallions
Chili and Cumin Lamb Leg Steaks/ Rendang Spiced Minute Steaks
Grilled Slipper Lobsters
Be spoiled for choices at Pinang's Bar's amazing variety of barbecue goodness. Pinang's Bar plays the seasonal card well, I was enamored for their Grilled Slipper Lobsters, it was very fresh and perfectly cooked, pleasingly firm but not hard to the bite. The pristine white Lobster flesh was not needy for any seasonings, just perfect to go on its own. While I was delighted with the gloriously good Slipper Lobster, I was not quite impressed with the Prawns in which I thought it was a misnomer to name it Garlic and Kaffir Lime Prawns. It does not possess the distinctive aroma of Garlic and Kaffir Lime, as though I was having some ordinary Grilled Prawns. Nevertheless, the Prawns were fresh and succulent.
You are making a terrible mistake if you are not having their Local Squid with Turmeric Sambal, the well-executed Squid was pleasingly firm to the bite but not rubbery, and to my surprise, the combination of Turmeric and Squid worked pretty well for me. The Lamb and Beef, however, were a let down due to the dry and hard texture, I thought they could be a little juicier, probably not the ideal cut for grilling nevertheless. Baked Potatoes, Sour Cream, Beef Bacon Bits, chopped Scallions, the dish has all the boxes ticked to serve a good Baked Potatoes, it may sound simple but many are unable to deliver the quality and I am happy to say that I had my craving satisfied at Pinang's Bar.

Mediterranean Ratatouille
Corn On The Cob
Egg Fried Rice with Honey Barbecue Chicken
It may be a sin for some to have Fried Rice in a buffet meal but Pinang's Bar's Egg Fried Rice with Honey Barbecue Chicken worth every single calorie. The flavors were precisely calibrated with the desired "Wok Hei" and ideal texture; not to mention the magical mix of Honey Barbecue Chicken for the hint of smokey sweetness. The Fried Rice was good on its own but even better with the addition of their home-made Sambal Belacan for the extra Chili kick. A dish not to be missed at Pinang's Bar. The Mediterranean Ratatouille on the other hand, was equally worth-trying with its appetizingly refreshing vegetables (Zucchini, Aubergines and Tomatoes).
Penang Char Koay Teow
Well I did not have high expectations on their Char Koay Teow since it was not made-to-order; the wok aroma was present but not as overwhelming as I would have hoped. Of course, you may request the Chef to fry it on the spot for you but I did not find the need since there were aplenty choices for me to choose from for that evening.
Corn Chowder with Smoked Fish Soup
Various Fresh Bakes
Chicken Salad
Fresh Greens
Start your meal with the hearty Corn Chowder and go with their daily fresh bakes. While you are at the kiosk, do check out their Fresh Greens and assorted Salad. The Chicken Salad should be perfect for the health-conscious in you. I love the copious amount of Chicken Breast added, as well as the sweet Cherry Tomatoes; drizzle some Balsamic Vinegar dressing over the Salad if you would prefer the acidic tilt to kick start the meal.
Coconut Tart with Cherries
Banana Mille Feuille
Chocolate Dome/ Strawberry Short Cake
End the meal with the carefully selected desserts on the display kiosk, amongst the desserts we had, the French pastry- Banana Milk Feuille stands out with its impressionable quality. It was soft and light on the palate, with a strong aroma of Banana-Milk flavor, yet, not saccharine sweet. Chocolate lovers will definitely fall in love with their Chocolate Dome, the rich and velvety smooth Chocolate makes you feel like as though you are having the real Chocolate instead of a cake. On the other hand, you may wish to try their Mont Blanc, a cake that is not commonly seen in Penang. Smooth Whipped Cream and pureed Chestnuts spread on top of a dense and moist Chocolate Cake, although not mind-blowing, but it is definitely a solid attempt if you are to game for something new.
