It's been eight months since Xiaomi released its first tablet - the Mi Pad - and Xiaomi is planning to launch second generation tablet “MI Pad 2” in the first quarter of 2015.
The Mi Pad 2 as rumors claim, state that the tablet will possess the same form factor as its predecessor, along with the same resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels.
Coming back to the internal specifications of the Mi Pad 2, instead of Nvidia’s Tegra K1 quad-core 2.3GHz processor, it’ll have a 1.8GHz Intel processor (a variant of the Atom series, presumably) along with 2GB of RAM and MIUI OS built upon Android 4.4.4 KitKat, if the leaked photos are anything to go by. Last but not the least, the pictures also point at a 16GB on-board storage that the tablet could have but the device might come different internal memory variants 32/64 GB. Anyway memory can be expanded by an external micro SD card, upto 128 GB.
If Mi Pad 2 is really using Intel processor, it will definitely help Intel to penetrate into tablet market and reduce the billions dollar loses.
What do you make of these specifications? Rumour or rubbish?
